Survival Skills

This survival skills program provides participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to survive in the wilderness. From understanding the fundamentals of outdoor survival to navigating using maps and compasses, this program is perfect for teens and young adults interested in the outdoors. 
 

Our experienced instructors will guide participants through a range of theoretical and practical activities.  The following topics and potentially others, will be chosen based upon the location of the activity and desired length of the course:

 

  1. Introduction to Fieldcraft: Understanding the fundamentals of outdoor survival, the importance of preparation, and developing a survival mindset.

  2. Terrain Analysis: Understanding the terrain and environment, identifying key landmarks, and assessing potential hazards.

  3. Shelter and Fire: Building shelter, identifying the right materials to start a fire, and techniques for lighting and maintaining a fire.

  4. Water and Food: Identifying and collecting water, and techniques for finding and foraging food in the wild.

  5. Leave No Trace: Understanding the principles of Leave No Trace, and how to minimize your impact on the environment.
